ENHANCE* is a highly specialized workout designed to build strength and stability through proper body mechanics and improve overall proprioception. Building this sense and awareness of the relative position of one’s own parts of the body in space and strength of effort being employed in movement is important for the dancer. Training is intended to accelerate personal aspects of technical execution as it relates to alignment, shape, control and individual goals of the dancer. By focusing on muscle imbalances and correct pathways to prevent injury, we can also help ourselves protect the body from the demands of the art form. Allowing the opportunity for dancers to concentrate strictly on the isolated movements within the workout, without the added inclusion of staying with a musical beat or piece of choreography, dancers gain and learn to decipher important information that greatly compliments weekly dance classes.
Dancers will need to bring a yoga mat from home for each training session.
Group classes are limited to 4 students per instructor.
Classes run in 5 and 10 week sessions. Halfway through the 10 week sessions, those dancers currently registered will have first priority to renew for the next 10 weeks. 5 Week sessions will be first come-first served enrollment. For a more detailed listing of the 10 week session calendar, go to your AOD ONLINE ACCOUNT under ENHANCE TRAINING SCHEDULE for viewing.
Keep in mind, each hour can only accommodate 4 dancers max, so popular class times may fill quickly. Enroll as a group or meet new friends at the first class!
