A native of Houston, Texas, Daniela Maarraoui began her training at the City Ballet of Houston from age four to eighteen. While training, she attended various summer programs at Houston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and the HARID Conservatory. She also competed in the 2014 International Ballet Competition and performed in the 2016 Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Daniela eventually joined The Joffrey Ballet as a trainee and was promoted to the studio company the following year, where she danced and toured with the Company. Her repertoire with Joffrey included Christopher Wheeldon’s Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, Lola de Ávila’s Giselle, and Krzysztof Pastor’s Romeo & Juliet. She also spent three months as a guest artist with the Semperoper Ballet in Dresden, Germany, performing in Aaron Watkins’ Swan Lake. Since joining Milwaukee Ballet in 2019, Daniela has performed in many ballets such as Coppélia, The Firebird, Sacre in Ballet Russe Reimagined, Classical Symphony, Swan Lake, Dracula, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Dani Rowe’s Chaminade, to name a few. She has also been featured in soloist roles in Michael Pink’s The Nutcracker as Clara, the Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, and as a soloist in La Bayadère. After a rewarding career, Daniela retired from Milwaukee Ballet in August 2025 and will be pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
